Most children personify themselves with their dolls and figurines during games, and for many, this craving remains into adulthood. Therefore, the American toy manufacturer Hasbro has launched a new service – now you can order a collectible 152 mm figure with a face that will repeat your features in detail. In fact, you can embody yourself in the image of your favorite superhero.
The project is called “Hasbro Selfie Series”, and Formlabs, which specializes in 3D printing, is participating in its implementation. It all started a few years ago when, in a competition, the winners were rewarded with figurines with their own faces. The idea turned out to be very successful and now they decided to scale the service for everyone, but so far within the United States.
To create a figurine, you need to use the Hasbro Pulse application to scan your face. The buyer can choose the color of hair and skin, as well as one of the bodies from sets of heroes from Star Wars, Marvel, Ghostbusters and GI Joe. For 3D printing, a synthetic hypoallergenic resin is used, which has the strength of polypropylene. The cost of one figurine is $60.
